Mobile App Terms of Use

1. About These Terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Dhyan Mala mobile app and related support or services. Dhyan Mala is developed and operated by Niranjan Subedi.

The Dhyan Mala website shares information about the app. Simply viewing the marketing website does not, by itself, make you bound by these Terms.

2. Use of Dhyan Mala

Dhyan Mala is provided as a digital companion for Japa, Dhyan, scripture reflection and personal devotional practice. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial and lawful purposes.

The app is not intended to replace your physical mala, teacher, lineage, community or personal judgement. It is a tool for moments when a digital practice companion is helpful.

3. Eligibility

Dhyan Mala is a general spiritual-wellness application and is not specifically directed at children. If you are below the age at which you can independently agree to online-service terms in your country, you should use the app with permission from a parent or guardian.

4. Not Professional Advice or Religious Authority

Dhyan Mala is not medical, mental health, legal, financial or emergency advice. It is also not a religious authority. The app may support reflection and personal practice, but your choices, interpretations and spiritual commitments remain your responsibility.

If you are in distress or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional.

5. Scripture and Devotional Content

Scripture content, translations, transliterations, references and explanations are provided for devotional, reflection and learning purposes. Translations and interpretations can vary across traditions, sources, lineages and communities.

Dhyan Mala does not provide authoritative religious rulings. When tradition-specific accuracy matters, please consult trusted primary sources, teachers, your lineage or community guidance.

6. Availability and Accuracy

We aim to keep Dhyan Mala reliable and useful, but features may occasionally be unavailable, interrupted, delayed or changed as the app evolves.

We also aim to present app content carefully, while recognising that scripture translations, transliterations, references and explanations may differ across traditions or sources. Nothing in these Terms limits statutory consumer rights that apply to you.

7. Data and Privacy

Dhyan Mala can be used without an account, and practice history is primarily stored locally on your device. Our Privacy Policy explains what information may be stored locally, submitted through feedback or processed by service providers such as Firebase.

8. Feedback

If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to review and use those ideas to improve and operate Dhyan Mala without owing compensation. This does not transfer ownership of any separate intellectual property you may own.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Dhyan Mala or related services. This includes:

• Using the app or website for unlawful, harmful, abusive or deceptive purposes.
• Abusing, scraping, disrupting or interfering with the app, website or connected services.
• Introducing malware, harmful code or attempts to compromise security.
• Submitting feedback or support content that infringes rights or violates another person's privacy.
• Copying, reselling or redistributing the app, content, design or assets without permission.
• Reverse engineering the app, except where applicable law expressly permits it.

10. Intellectual Property

Dhyan Mala, including its app experience, visual design, text, software, brand elements and original content, is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the app for personal use in accordance with these Terms.

11. Third-Party Services

Dhyan Mala may rely on third-party services, including the Apple App Store, Google Play, operating systems and Firebase services for app distribution, analytics, crash reporting, feedback storage or remote configuration. Third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Updates and Changes to the App

We may update, change, pause or discontinue features as the app evolves. Some features may depend on your device, operating system, app version, country, app store availability or network access. We may also show update prompts when an older version is no longer compatible.

13. Consumer Rights and Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

Subject to those rights, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you began using Dhyan Mala, or for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Because practice history is primarily stored locally on your device, we cannot guarantee recovery of local data if the app is deleted, app data is cleared, or the device is lost, damaged, replaced or reset.

14. Ending Use

You may stop using Dhyan Mala at any time by stopping use of the app or deleting it from your device. We may restrict connected services if we reasonably believe they are being misused or these Terms have been violated.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use as Dhyan Mala changes. When we do, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page. Where appropriate, we will provide notice of material changes and seek fresh acceptance where required by applicable law or platform rules.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your country of residence.

If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.
