Terms of Use

Last updated: August 12, 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Dhyan Mala, including the mobile app, website and related support channels. By using Dhyan Mala, you agree to these terms.

Use of Dhyan Mala

Dhyan Mala is provided as a digital companion for Japa, Dhyan, scripture reflection and personal devotional practice. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial and lawful purposes.

The app is not intended to replace your physical mala, teacher, lineage, community or personal judgement. It is a tool for moments when a digital practice companion is helpful.

Eligibility

You must be old enough to use digital services in your jurisdiction, or have permission from a parent or guardian. If you use Dhyan Mala on behalf of another person or organization, you are responsible for having authority to do so.

Not Professional Advice

Dhyan Mala is not medical, mental health, legal, financial or emergency advice. It is also not a religious authority. The app may support reflection and personal practice, but your choices, interpretations and spiritual commitments remain your responsibility.

If you are in distress or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional.

Content and Scripture

Scripture references and meanings are offered for reflection and learning. We aim to present content carefully, but translations, transliterations, references and explanations may be incomplete, interpreted differently across traditions or contain errors.

You should consult trusted primary sources, teachers or community guidance when accuracy or tradition-specific interpretation matters to you.

Your Data and Device

Dhyan Mala can be used without an account, and practice history is local by default. You are responsible for your device, backups, operating system settings and any data loss caused by deleting the app, clearing app data, changing devices or uninstalling updates.

Our Privacy Policy explains what information may be stored locally, submitted through feedback or processed by service providers such as Firebase.

Feedback

If you send feedback, suggestions or support messages, you give us permission to review and use them to improve, support and operate Dhyan Mala without owing compensation to you. Please do not include confidential or sensitive information unless you want it reviewed for support purposes.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Dhyan Mala or related services. This includes:

  • Using the app or website for unlawful, harmful, abusive or deceptive purposes.
  • Interfering with, reverse engineering, scraping or disrupting the app, website or connected services.
  • Submitting feedback or content that infringes rights, contains malware or violates another person's privacy.
  • Copying, reselling or redistributing the app, content, design or assets except as allowed by law.

Intellectual Property

Dhyan Mala, including its app experience, visual design, text, software, brand elements and original content, is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal use in accordance with these terms.

Third-Party Services

Dhyan Mala may rely on third-party services, including app stores, operating systems and Firebase services for analytics, crash reporting, feedback storage and remote configuration. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

Updates and Availability

We may update, change, pause or discontinue features as the app evolves. Some features may depend on your device, operating system, app version, country, app store availability or network access. We may also show update prompts when an older version is no longer compatible.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dhyan Mala is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly accurate or suitable for every user or tradition.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, goodwill, profits or practice records arising from your use of Dhyan Mala.

Ending Use

You may stop using Dhyan Mala at any time. We may suspend, restrict or end access to any connected service if we reasonably believe the app is being misused or these terms have been violated.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use as Dhyan Mala changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived in your jurisdiction. Any disputes should first be raised with us so we can try to resolve them respectfully.
